"Hey guys, I just wanted to spark a discussion on something that's been bugging me lately. I'm a native English speaker and I've had a few dodgy experiences with what I'm pretty sure were scams on Telegram groups run by people who weren't fluent in my language - the promises are just too good to be true and the language barrier makes it hard to suss out the red flags. Has anyone else had similar experiences?"

"Yup, almost fell for a fake Telegram group promoting a pump and dump scheme last year. The devs spoke a language I could barely understand, and the fake stats they provided looked convincing. Luckily, I got out in time, but it was a close call"

Yeah, I got hit by a fake investment scheme a while back because I wasn't familiar with the Russian language. Luckily, I didn't send any funds, but it was a close call. Always trust your gut and verify the source, regardless of language.

"Yup, I've had my fair share of close calls with crypto scams in China. A bunch of phishing apps and websites are super prevalent there and a lot of people get scammed just because they can't read or write English fluently. Wish Binance and other exchanges would offer more Chinese language support."

"Yea, I've had a few close calls with scammers who claimed to be from a legit exchange, but the bad grammar and weird phrasing raised a red flag. Thankfully, I double-checked and got out before it was too late. Always trust your gut and research, folks!"

"I've gotta say, language barriers have definitely caught me off guard in the past. There was this one time I got scammed by a fake investment opportunity because the guy was speaking broken English and I wasn't questioning it enough. Lesson learned, always verify the source and don't rush into anything!"

I've had a few close calls with scammers when I was still getting into crypto. One of them spoke decent English, but I think if I'd been less tech-savvy, I might've fallen for it. Be cautious, guys - language barrier or not, these scammers are sly.

"Yup, had that happen to me once. Got a PM from a 'trader' claiming to be able to double my BTC in no time, but couldn't understand the fine print. Luckily, I waited a few hours and did my research, so dodged the bullet."

"Yup, got rekt by a phishing scam when I first got into crypto. I received an email from a supposed 'investor' who wanted to collaborate on a project, but it was just a Nigerian prince thing. Glad I didn't send any ETH"

"Totally, bro. I've seen a few instances where non-native speakers get scammed out of their crypto due to fake job offers or investment opportunities that sound legit at first. Just remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is"

"Yooo, had that happen to me once. Someone sent me a link to 'invest' in a 'hot new altcoin' but all the emails were in broken Chinese. Luckily I spoke to a Chinese friend who helped me sniff out the scam"

"Yooo, sadly I've been there multiple times. I've had exchanges and 'influencers' reach out to me in Spanish, but with a dodgy accent and bad grammar. Always a good idea to fact-check and not rely on Google Translate"

"Yooo, that's happened to me too. I once got convinced to send some BTC to a fake trading bot 'support' team because their Spanish translation was smooth and convincing, but luckily, I checked the address twice before sending. Don't let language tricks fool u, fam"

Yeah, I've had that happen a few times. I got caught up in a Telegram group where everyone was spamming about some "guaranteed" 5x returns on a new altcoin, but I think the language barrier just clouded my judgment and made me overlook the obvious red flags. Luckily, I didn't lose too much.
