Will the next ASIC shortage tank our SourceMod plugin updates?

If the ASIC shortage makes hardware unobtanium again, are we gonna see SourceMod updates grind to a halt? Server hosts are gonna get squeezed on costs, and I bet devs won't stick around if maintaining rigs gets too pricey. Just wondering if I should brace for impact or if this is just FUD.

I think it's still too early to say if the next ASIC shortage will have a major impact on SourceMod updates, but I do think it'll be a challenge for smaller mining pools and individuals, especially if the scarcity of new miners drives up prices even further.

I don't think the next ASIC shortage will directly affect SourceMod plugin updates, since they're typically more software-related, not hardware. However, it's possible that the resulting crypto market downturn could impact our team's motivation to work on updates, but that's speculative.

Dude, I'm more worried about the impact on our mining operation than the plugin updates, but a shortage would definitely slow us down. We've been considering switching to newer chips, but I heard they might not be compatible with our existing rigs. Maybe we can try to negotiate with our hardware supplier, see if they can get us some priority on the next batch.

dude that ASIC shortage is looking more and more likely to happen again, we should start discussing contingency plans for SourceMod plugin updates since our dev team relies heavily on those fancy mining rigs, any ideas on how to stay ahead of the game? maybe we can collaborate on a cloud-based solution

dont think the ASIC shortage will directly impact Smobs updates, they use GPUs for mining and the cards they use arent as scarce as the specialized ASICs for other crypto coins. That being said, it's still worth keeping an eye on global GPU prices as they can fluctuate wildly in times of high demand.

Honestly I dont think the ASIC shortage will affect our plugin updates that much, most dev work is done on regular hardware anyway. That being said, if the shortage drags on it might slow down testing and optimization for some of the more compute-intensive plugins. Hopefully it gets sorted before our next major update drops

Bro, you’re mixing up mining rigs with game server scripts lol. SourceMod updates don’t have anything to do with crypto hardware shortages.
