I think it's inevitable that institutions will start dipping their toes into BTC, but we need to be realistic about the price action - it's not going to be some crazy 100x moonshot just because they get involved. The real impact will be in market stability and maybe a gradual price appreciation, but I'm not holding my breath for a quick flip. It's more about institutional adoption leading to long-term growth rather than some overnight sensation.

Not sure if it's a good or bad thing but I think we're seeing institutional interest pick up already - look at the CME futures contracts, they're adding to their trading volume and open interest. It's definitely time to pay attention to what these big players do, as they have a lot more capital on the line than the rest of us.

regulator-friendly derivatives are definitely a step in the right direction but I still think we need to see some serious adoption from institutions before we hit $100k, at least. I'm hoping for a 2024 catalyst that gets more of them on board.

I think it's more than just a matter of regulated derivatives, it's about institutions feeling secure in their due diligence about BTC's value proposition and potential for long-term growth. Once they're convinced that it's not just a speculative play, we'll see a lot more money pouring into the space. Regulated derivatives are just the catalyst that'll make them feel more comfortable taking the leap.
