Which GPU rig actually boosts my gaming PC’s hashrate without killing FPS?

Been tinkering with a few GPU rigs to see if I can squeeze out extra hashpower without tanking my frame rates. Anyone got solid combos that actually give a noticeable boost while keeping the game smooth? Share your builds and real‑world FPS impact.

I've got mine set up with a mid-range NVIDIA RTX 3060 and an AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, and I was able to squeeze out a nice balance between gaming performance and hashrate, with my Ethereum rig running at around 2.5 MH/s and still keeping my 144Hz monitor smooth. I've heard the new AMD RX 7900 XT cards are great for mining too, but they're a bit pricey right now. Has anyone else found success with these newer cards?

I've been using an NVIDIA RTX 3080 in my mining rig, paired with an AMD Ryzen Threadripper processor, and it's delivered a solid 20 MH/s boost in mining hashrate without sacrificing too much FPS in my gaming sessions. The 3080's efficiency and low voltage requirements have been a godsend for me.

Honestly, just snag a cheap second card solely for mining so you don't tank your frames. Trying to game and mine on the same GPU is a guaranteed stutter fest no matter the settings. Keep that secondary card's power limit locked low and you're golden.

Honestly, trying to hash on your main GPU while gaming is just gonna throttle your temps and tank your FPS. Your best bet is slapping in a cheap secondary card specifically for mining so your main card stays free for the game.
