War, inflation, and email ROI: Is the battlefield messing with our open rates?

I’m seeing engagement absolutely tank lately, and I gotta wonder if all the geopolitical noise and inflation fears are making people tune out marketing emails. Maybe folks are just too stressed about the economy to care about our promos right now? Anyone else noticing their open rates taking a nosedive despite sending solid content?

I think a lot of it comes down to people being more cautious with their online presence and emails, especially with all the scams going around these days. It's also possible that with people's attention spread thinner due to current events, open rates are just naturally going to take a hit.

I'm not sure it's fair to say the battlefield specifically is messing with our open rates, when there are so many other factors at play like the ongoing email spam problem that's just getting worse. Maybe we need to take a step back and look at our targeting and subject line game, because I'm seeing some seriously low metrics across the board and it's hard to pinpoint a single cause.

It’s tough to get clicks when everyone’s portfolio is underwater and inflation is eating lunch. People are doomscrolling bad news instead of checking inboxes, so expect open rates to stay cooked.

I think people are just getting tired of all the spammy emails flooding their inboxes lately, period. War and inflation might be contributing to a general lack of focus and patience online, but let's not forget the elephant in the room: bad email marketing practices. We've been seeing this decline in open rates for years, and I'm still convinced it's more about the quality of the content than current events.

Everyone's doomscrolling the news and watching gas prices, so yeah, promo emails are getting ignored. ROI is gonna tank unless you're actually dropping alpha or real value right now.

I think it's def more than just the global situation affecting our email ROIs, algo changes and subscriber fatigue are pretty big factors too. Been noticing a dip in opens across multiple campaigns, gonna have to switch up our strategy. Anyone else seeing similar trends and finding ways to adapt?

Honestly, everyone’s too busy doomscrolling the charts or panic-selling to bother with newsletters. Inflation’s got people tightening their belts, so any promo email is just noise right now. You’re probably just seeing the market sentiment bleed into your metrics.

Everyone’s too busy doomscrolling news feeds to care about marketing blasts right now. Unless you’re dropping actual alpha, your emails are just getting lost in the noise of inflation and economic freak-outs. ROI is gonna stay tanked until the global chill settles down a bit.
