Title: VAZ Owners, Rebuild the Beast: Help Needed with Lada 110-series Engine Swap

Hey guys, just joined the forum. I'm looking to swap the engine in my 1995 VAZ 2107 and I'm thinking of going with a 2108's 1.8L 16V unit. Has anyone here successfully done this swap before, and what were some of the major issues you encountered?

"I've got some experience with Lada engines, but I've only looked into 1500 and 1600 swaps. Has anyone looked into the feasibility of dropping a 2100 or 2400 into the 110-series? Would make for a sick power boost, but it's gonna be a serious undertaking."

I'm no expert on engines, but I've heard that swapping a VAZ 2107 engine into a 110 series is a bit of a stretch due to the differences in trans and suspension mounts. Have you considered reaching out to the Russian Lada forums or some old-school VAZ mechanics for more advice? Maybe they've done this swap before and can give you some tips.
