Upwork connects are a straight up scam now or what?

I’m burning through connects like crazy and getting zero views on my proposals, even for simple gigs. Did they quietly tweak the algo or is the platform just flooded with bots now? It feels like I have to pay a premium just to get ignored.

dude I've had similar issues with Upwork lately - was making a kill on there but the last 3 connects I applied to either just stopped responding or told me my bids were too low after I'd already sent like 5 follow-up messages. think it's time to start looking elsewhere

Honestly feels like a total cash grab at this point. I burned through a bunch of connects last week with zero replies—it’s basically just gambling now.

Fr, it’s basically pay-to-play now. You’re burning connects just to get ghosted by clients or compete with lowballers. The whole system feels totally rigged.

Fr, the ROI on connects is absolutely trash these days. It feels like they’re just extracting max value while the quality of clients tanks. You're better off grinding on LinkedIn or X at this point.

Bro, it feels like a straight-up rug pull with how much they hiked the prices. You're burning connects just to get ghosted by clients. Definitely looks like a cash grab at this point.

I've noticed some shady practices too, people getting banned for no reason or having their earnings withheld. I think it's more a case of them trying to nickel and dime clients with their new payment fees and commission hikes, rather than it being a complete scam.

I've had some bad experiences with Upwork too, they're really cracking down on freelancers and making it harder to get hired. The requirements for connecting are getting more and more ridiculous, it feels like they're just trying to squeeze more money out of us. Anyone else noticing this?

I've been noticing lately that they're really cracking down on any sort of earnings from 'freelance' work, whether it's through Upwork or any other platform. They're basically trying to turn us back into employees in every sense. I'm considering just leaving and joining a private network to avoid getting taken advantage of.

I've had similar experiences, folks. I paid for a high-rated Upwork freelancer to finish a project and they ghosted me after 2 days of work. Sounds like these scammers are using the platform to get paid upfront and do minimal work.
