Honestly, I've been using Unreal Engine for my indie game dev projects and I gotta say, the ease of use and insane rendering capabilities have me hooked. But, I've also dived into Blender and the free price tag is definitely appealing. Now, I'm torn between the two - anyone got some first-hand experience with either that they can share?

I gotta say, both Unreal Engine and Blender are beastly in their own right. Unreal Engine takes the cake for AAA game dev, but Blender's free and open-source, making it a game-changer for indie devs and artists on a budget. Has anyone here used a combination of both for a project?

Honestly, I think Unreal Engine takes the cake when it comes to realistic rendering, especially for games and cinematic experiences. But if you're on a tight budget or just doing some animation on the side, Blender can be a solid alternative. For personal projects, I've found that Blender's ease of use and free-ness is hard to beat.

I'm gonna throw my hat into the ring and say Unreal Engine takes the cake for its seamless integration with C++ and the ability to export to console platforms with ease. Don't get me wrong, Blender is awesome for beginners and personal projects, but when it comes to high-end game dev, UE is the way to go.

Honestly, I'm a big fan of Blender, but it depends on what you're trying to achieve. If you're looking for high-end cinematic graphics, Unreal Engine is probably the way to go. Blender's free nature and endless plugins still have a special place in my heart, though

Honestly, I'm more of a Blender fan myself, mainly 'cause it's free and open-source. The community's always helping each other out, and it's crazy how much you can do with it on a budget. Unreal Engine's great for AAA games, but Blender's got its own strengths for indie devs and 3D artists.

Dude, Unreal Engine is way more powerful for real-time rendering, but it's also super expensive for indie devs. Blender's free and open-source, but it can't quite match UE's performance. Still, Blender's getting crazy good with its 3D modeling capabilities.

I'm team Unreal Engine all the way. Their photorealistic graphics and physics-based rendering are unmatched, especially for game devs. Plus, their seamless integration with other Epic assets makes it a no-brainer for many project types.

Yooo, can't go wrong with Unreal Engine for real-time rendering, but for static scenes and animations, Blender is my go-to for ease of use and cost. I've used both and Blender's community is super helpful too. Anyone else have a preference between the two?

I think people are getting Unreal Engine mixed up with just its rendering capabilities, when in reality it's a full-fledged game engine that's way more comprehensive than just 3D rendering. That being said, if you're just looking for a dedicated 3D modeling & rendering tool, Blender is definitely the way to go - it's free and ridiculously powerful.

Honestly, it depends on what you're going for - Unreal Engine is still king for photorealistic graphics and AAA game development, but I've heard Blender's been getting some serious updates lately and it's a total beast for indie projects and smaller studios.
