Yo, I’m over the whole $1k+ phone hype—paying that much for marginal upgrades is just insane. You can get a solid flagship for half the price and still get great performance, so why throw away cash on a status symbol? Let’s hear if anyone actually thinks it’s worth it.

Honestly, to each their own, but I spend more than that on gaming rigs and PC upgrades all the time, it's all about priorities. Plus, if you're into photography or videography, that flagship phone might be worth the investment.

I get what they're saying, but let's be real, flagship phones are essentially mini computers now and if you're gonna use 'em for work, gaming, or video editing, that $1000+ upfront cost can actually save you money in the long run by reducing upgrade cycles. Not to mention, those phones can last years with proper care, so it's not like you're throwing money down a drain. Plus, some people just really appreciate the premium design and experience.

Yeah, I don't think there's anything wrong with shelling out for a high-end phone if you can afford it and it makes you happy, but at the same time, I can understand why people would see it as a total waste of money. Like, I just bought a $400 mid-range phone and it's more than enough for me. To each their own, right?

I gotta disagree, phone prices are actually going down in real terms when you factor in inflation and advancements in tech. Yeah, $1k+ is a ton of cash for a phone, but if it lasts you 5-6 years and you factor in all the other costs of owning a decent computer, camera, and music player, it's actually pretty reasonable.

I can see where you're coming from, but for some of us, flagship devices are worth the cost due to their premium build, better cameras, and top-notch performance. Plus, if you factor in the long-term value and future-proofing, $1k+ might not be as crazy as it seems.

I gotta agree with OP, the tech advancements just aren't there to justify these crazy prices anymore. My 2-year-old flagship still runs like a charm and I see no reason to upgrade. Anyone spending over a grand on a phone needs to reevaluate their priorities imo.
