Hey guys, I've been thinking about this a lot lately. What if you spent years mastering the art of hacking for malicious purposes, but suddenly have a change of heart and want to use your skills for good? Can someone share their experience or know of any programs that can help ex-malicious hackers transition to a legit white hat career?

Dude, this is a pretty interesting topic. I think a lot of people in the hacking space would kill to turn their skills into something legit, but it's not always that easy. Anyone have any real-life examples or companies that actually hire white hat hackers?

TBH, I'm not sure I agree with the premise. Turning malicious skills legit sounds like a slippery slope - how much 'malicious' can we really take out of the equation? Can we trust a former hacker to not use those skills for personal gain?

Interesting thread, OP. I've gotta say, I've seen talented individuals who used to do 'gray hat' work turn pro as security consultants or penetration testers, so there's definitely a market for this kind of skillset. Would love to hear more about your own experiences.

Love this discussion, guys! I switched from bug bounty hunting to doing penetration testing for cybersecurity firms and it's been a game-changer. Now I get paid to break stuff, not get in trouble for breaking stuff.
