Been messing with dropping power limits during peak hours to avoid those insane electricity rates, but I'm not sure if the efficiency hit is worth it. Has anyone actually crunched the numbers to see if underclocking saves more cash than just shutting the rigs down? Curious to hear how you guys are balancing night rates with your daily earnings.

I've been underclocking some of my GPUs since the price of power took a dive, works like a charm for low-intensity mining and doesn't hurt performance too much in my opinion. You get a decent chunk of the profits without sacrificing too much performance, especially for the more efficient miners out there.

I've been experimenting with underclocking my rig and the results have been promising, I've managed to save around 10-15% on my electricity bill at night when the spot price is lower. It might not be a revolutionary idea, but it's a relatively easy way to squeeze out some extra profit if you're not too concerned about maxing out your hashrate. My rig runs 24/7, so even a small decrease in power consumption adds up over time.

I've been running my rig at reduced frequency during off-peak hours for a while now and I gotta say it's been a game-changer for my electricity bills. My hashrate drops from 100 to 70 TH/s at night, but my power consumption goes from 2.5 kW to 1.8 kW, saving me around $5-6 per night. Not a bad way to get some extra cash, especially on days when the night rates are significantly cheaper.

I've been underclocking my rig by 20% at night for a few months now and it's saved me around $100 in electricity costs per month. It's also helped reduce wear and tear on my GPUs, so I'm hoping it'll extend their lifespan. Not sure if anyone's doing this on a more extreme scale, but I'd love to hear about that.

I've tried underclocking my rig a bit at night and it seems to make a decent difference in my electricity bill, but you gotta be careful not to drop it too low or you'll see your hash rates plummet. It's a balancing act between saving cash and still getting decent returns. Has anyone else experimented with this and found a sweet spot?

I've been using a power savings mode on my ASIC rig that drops the hash rate by around 30%, and honestly it's done pretty well, I'm still earning around 60% of my normal profits and saving around 20% on electricity costs, not bad for a minimal investment in some custom software. The other benefit is that my rig is running cooler and quieter at night, so I can keep it in the living room. Has anyone else had success with this method?

Depends on your local TOU rates, but squeezing that extra efficiency is usually worth it. I dropped my voltage overnight and the power savings add up fast, plus the hardware runs way cooler.

Honestly unless you're getting hammered by peak power rates, you're just leaving money on the table. Better to dial in a sweet undervolt and keep the rig running stable 24/7.

Honestly, unless you're getting hammered by peak electricity rates, dropping the hash rate usually hurts your daily rewards more than the savings are worth. I'd stick to undervolting for efficiency instead of sacrificing raw hash, otherwise you're just leaving money on the table.

It's a total game changer if you're on time-of-use rates, since dropping the volts saves way more cash than the hashrate you lose. Just keep an eye on stability so you don't tank your efficiency with rejected shares. Worth a shot if the electric bill is eating your margins.

I've been underclocking my rig at night for a few months now and Ive seen a noticeable drop in my electricity bill, definitely worth considering if you're not trying to compete with the big dogs. Just make sure you're not sacrificing too much hashrate or it'll negate the whole point. Been meaning to post my exact settings but havent gotten around to it yet
