"UAZ Hunter 4x4 Conversion - Worth The Hype?"

Just picked up an old UAZ Hunter and plan to convert it into a 4x4 beast. I've seen some sick conversions online, but I'm curious to know from fellow off-roaders if the hype around UAZs is justified. Has anyone here had any experience modifying one?
