These new miners are claiming crazy efficiency numbers, but is the jump actually worth the upfront cost or just marketing hype? I’m sitting on an older rig trying to decide if it’s time to upgrade or just hodl. Anyone taken the plunge yet and seen real returns?

Honestly, I got burned last year by an 8gb Vega card thinking it would be a decent miner but it barely broke even over the year. New hype cards are still pretty expensive, and it's really hard to make back that profit at today's prices. For now, I'm good with just letting my existing hardware do its thing and not investing in anything new.

I've been following this hype around new breed miners, but honestly for most users upgrading their rigs is still the way to go, at least for now, especially considering the cost of the newer models. The new breed miners are impressive, but it's not like they'll pay themselves off in a month or two. For casual mining, I'd stick with tried and true setups.

Don't bother unless you have dirt cheap power. The efficiency gains are marginal, but the crazy upfront cost means you’ll never ROI at these rates.

Honestly, unless you’ve got dirt cheap power, the ROI on these new units is gonna be painful. Feels like mostly just FOMO driving prices up right now, so I’m holding off.
