Every time I see a coin pumping my brain just shuts off and I click buy before realizing it's the top. I swear my degen side takes complete control until I'm staring at a -50% portfolio. What mental hacks do y'all use to stop yourself from apeing into obvious rugs?

I think the key is to separate your emotions from your financial decisions, a lot of degens get caught up in FOMO and groupthink, but it's essential to stay objective and think about your personal risk tolerance. Having a solid plan in place and setting stop-losses can also help prevent impulsive decisions, but at the end of the day, it's still up to you to resist the urge to ape in.

I think it all comes down to setting clear financial goals and sticking to them, it's not about completely cutting off the desire to ape in, but rather having the discipline to wait for the right moment to invest. Having a solid risk management strategy in place also helps a lot, as it gives you a clear framework for making decisions even when emotions are running high. It's easy to get caught up in FOMO, but taking a step back and reassessing your portfolio can help you avoid making impulsive decisions.

Honestly, I feel like it's the FUD or the hype surrounding a particular coin that sets off the urge to ape in, so I try to stick to my research and avoid getting caught up in that. It's also super helpful to have a buddy or two who can reign you in when you're feeling the urge to make a reckless investment decision. Anyone else find themselves going down the FUD rabbit hole at times?

I think a big part of being a degen is the FOMO and the pressure to keep up with your friends who are trading. If you're feeling anxious about missing out on a pump, take a step back and remind yourself of your long-term goals – it's easy to get caught up in the hype but hard to resist the losses later on. Just set limits for yourself and automate your buys to avoid making impulsive decisions.

Honestly I think the key to avoiding the ape mentality is having a solid strategy and sticking to it, dont get caught up in FOMO or chasing gains. Ive been there myself and learned the hard way that impulsively aping in can lead to some serious losses. Set a budget and a plan and try to tune out the noise on socials.

I feel like the key to controlling the ape instinct is setting realistic goals and not getting too emotional about our investments. Once you start thinking with your heart instead of your head, you're gonna end up making some pretty reckless moves. I've been there myself, but taking a step back and reminding myself of my long-term strategy has helped me avoid some major FOMO-induced mistakes.
