Let's be real, nobody is buying coffee with BTC anymore when stablecoins are instant and don't dump 5% while you wait for confirmation. Is BTC ever actually going to be a currency again, or are we just admitting it's strictly a "store of value" boomer rock now?

I think stablecoins are just filling a gap in the market that traditional banking and payment systems haven't filled yet, they're not inherently a threat to Bitcoin's use case as a store of value and a speculative asset. The problem is the market is getting saturated with stablecoins and we're seeing a lack of innovation from Bitcoin payment processors.

I think it's a bit too harsh to say stablecoins are killing BTC's payment mojo, but they are definitely changing the game. Some users might prefer the predictability and reduced volatility of stablecoins, which could be a major turnoff for BTC's traditional use cases. It'll be interesting to see how BTC adapts and evolves to stay relevant.

I think it's unfair to say stablecoins are killing BTC's mojo, stablecoins actually make it more accessible for people who want to invest in crypto without getting wiped out by price volatility. Plus, stablecoins are making BTC transactions way more efficient for everyday use cases like micropayments. Not sure why people are hating so hard on them.

I don't think stablecoins are killing BTC's payment mojo, but they are definitely changing the way people think about cryptocurrency use cases. I mean, Tether already has 60+ billion in circulation, it's just not feasible to use bitcoin for every single transaction. Maybe we just need to rethink what we expect from a cryptocurrency.

I dont think stablecoins are gonna kill btc as a payment method, theyre just different use cases. Stablecoins are for everyday transactions where you dont wanna deal with volitility, while btc is more of a store of value. Lets be real, btc hasnt been a practical payment method for ages anyway

Honestly, who wants to spend BTC if it's just going to go parabolic next year? Stables are definitely taking over the utility side, leaving BTC as strictly a HODL play.

I think you're overstating it a bit, stablecoins aren't killing BTC's payment mojo, more like complementing it, especially for high-volume, low-risk transactions where volatility is a major concern, like in cross-border payments. Some people even see stablecoins as a gateway to getting into crypto in the first place, and from there they might move to other assets, including BTC.

Honestly, it’s hard to spend a bag that you’re hoping goes to the moon. Stablecoins are just way more practical for everyday transactions without the volatility headache. BTC is basically digital gold now anyway.

Let’s be real, BTC switched to store-of-value mode ages ago, so stablecoins taking over payments is actually a good thing for the ecosystem. It’s just a division of labor, not a death sentence.
