Title: Slipping Through the Cracks: Can Legacy Messengers Adapt to Web3?

"Hey fellow crypto enthusiasts, I've been thinking about this for a while now - how do our old-school messengers (e.g. WhatsApp, Signal) fit into the Web3 ecosystem? Will they be able to adapt to the decentralization and security needs of blockchain-based services, or will new players like Signal's fork, Polaris, take over?"

I think it's a pipe dream expecting legacy messengers like WhatsApp to fully adapt to Web3. They're gonna get left behind, just like MMS when SMS became the norm. New players like Signal or Telegram will likely be the ones to make the transition to decentralized, blockchain-based messaging.

"I think legacy messengers will struggle to adapt since their traditional business models aren't built for Web3's decentralized and blockchain-based approach. They'll have to fundamentally change their architecture and monetization strategies, which might be too big of an ask. Would love to see some innovative solutions, tho."
