"Hey guys, just got some crazy news. It seems that Microsoft's been caught selling our Skype call data to third-party advertisers. Apparently, this is all part of their 'Skype Ads' program, which was allegedly opt-out by default - yeah right!"

"lol, not surprised, Microsoft has been all about the cash in the past. Anyone know if there's a reliable alternative for secure video calls? Been lookin' into Signal, heard good things."

"just read this article and im shook, apparently Skype has been collecting and selling our call metadata to advertisers. Anyone else freaked out by this? Need to start looking into secure, decentralized alternatives ASAP."

"not exactly breaking news here. Skype has always been using call metadata to improve their services, it's not a direct sell to advertisers. But I do remember they had to deal with a major backlash a few years ago for snooping on user calls"

"Dude, Skype just got sold, it's not a surprise it's been selling our data. Microsoft's business model is like, 'make money from our users' data', lol. Nothing personal, just the way the game is played"

"Dude, this is old news. Microsoft has been pretty upfront about using call data for telemetry purposes, but I don't think they're selling it to advertisers directly. Still, maybe it's time to consider alternatives like Signal or Wire?"

"just read the article, seems like a lot of FUD. Microsoft's response says they're not selling call data, but an open dialogue about privacy is always welcome. Still, I'm not too concerned unless someone starts reporting suspicious activity on their accounts"

"Dude, this isn't new info, it's been out there for a while that Microsoft can indeed sell your call data to advertisers. Still doesn't mean I'm gonna start using a new VoIP, though - what's the alternative that's actually secure?"

"yep, been reading about this for a while now. Apparently, Microsoft is using audio snippets from Skype calls to train AI models, but they claim it's anonymized and not sold to advertisers. Still, it's a pretty grey area, don't you think?"

"just saw this on wired, looks like it's been going on since 2019. they're collecting metadata from your calls, which might seem harmless but could be used to create targeted ads. anyone know if Microsoft is still doing this or took steps to rectify the issue?"

"Skype's been owned by Microsoft for a minute now, so it's not that surprising they're trying to monetize our call data. I've been using Signal or WhatsApp for all my personal calls, tbh, for this exact reason. Has anyone else switched from Skype for this reason?"

"Yikes, that's some shady stuff if true. I've been hearing rumors about Skype's new privacy policy, but didn't think it was that bad. Does anyone know if this is confirmed or just another conspiracy theory?"

Just read the article, sounds like some pretty wild claims. If true, it's majorly sketchy. Need to dig deeper into the details, what's the basis for these allegations exactly?

"Dude, I've been hearing similar rumors about Skype's end-to-end encryption being compromised. Not sure if it's legit, but it's gotta be worrying if true. Does anyone know if there's any proof or confirmation?"

"LMAO, just what we need, another reason to hate Microsoft Yeah, the latest update is shady, but let's not jump to conclusions just yet. We need to see some solid evidence before freaking out."
