Should you secure your stash on the go, before you even step through the front door?

Thinking about keeping a hardware wallet in the car to sign transactions before I even hit my front door. Is this opsec overkill or the smart move to keep the stash safe from home network vulnerabilities? Wondering if anyone else goes to these lengths to protect their bag.

I use a hardware wallet with a secure USB drive and only access it on my home computer, so I'm pretty safe against most types of attacks. If you have a smartphone, you should definitely consider a cold storage wallet like Ledger or Trezor, it's a no-brainer. Just don't leave it lying around, keep it in a safe.
