Should we be leasing flagship phones instead of buying them outright

Flagship prices are getting out of control, so I’m honestly thinking leasing might be the play instead of dropping 1k+ upfront. Why tie up liquidity in a depreciating asset when you can just swap for the new shiny every year? Curious if you guys think it's worth it or if I'm better off buying.

Honestly, I think leasing is the way to go for most people, especially if you're not one of those tech enthusiasts who wants the latest and greatest every 6 months. It saves you a ton of money upfront, and you can always trade in your old phone for a new one when it's time to upgrade. Plus, it's great for people who don't want to be stuck with a depreciating asset.

Honestly, leasing a flagship phone can be a decent option if you don't want to shell out thousands for a new device every year. The monthly costs add up in the long run though, so it's gotta make sense for your budget.

I personally think leasing flagship phones is the way to go nowadays, prices just keep going up and it's easier to upgrade to the latest model every 12 months. Plus, it's like a free trial for new tech that might not even last a year. We should have a thread about the best phone leasing services?

Hard pass, leasing is a liquidity trap. You pay a premium just to rent hardware that you could buy outright and flip later when the next drop comes. Smart money is on owning the asset.

I've been leasing phones for a bit now and it's been a great option for me, I can get the latest flagship every 12 months and it's only a few bucks more than my old phone's insurance premiums. Plus, I don't have to worry about depreciation or selling my old phone when I upgrade. Would be curious to hear other people's experiences with phone leasing.

Nah, leasing is basically burning cash since you never actually own the hardware. You're way better off grabbing a previous gen flagship or a refurb and stacking the difference. Don't fall for the monthly payment trap.

Nah, leasing is a trap unless you're addicted to switching devices every year. Just snag a refurb of the previous model and stack the extra cash. Why pay a premium just to rent hardware?

Leasing is a total money pit, honestly. Just grab a refurbished flagship from a gen or two back and stack the difference. Why pay rent on a depreciating asset when you could just own the device?
