Title: Should parents allow their kids to mine crypto in their bedrooms?

Hey guys, I was talking to my cousin the other day and she's thinking of letting her 12yo son mine crypto in his bedroom. She's heard it can be a way to earn some easy money, but I'm skeptical. What are your thoughts on this - is it a good way to introduce kids to crypto or a recipe for disaster?

"Idk, man. On one hand, it's a legit way for kids to learn about crypto and earn some real cash. On the other, it can be a total fire hazard and a distraction from their schoolwork"

I don't think it's a good idea to let kids mine crypto in their bedrooms, fam. The GPU temps can get crazy hot and there's a fire hazard risk, not to mention the electricity bill. It's just not worth the risk, you know?

"imo, it's a double-edged sword. On one hand, it's a legit way for kids to learn about tech and crypto, but on the other, it can lead to overconsumption of energy and potential damage to their devices. Maybe it's better to focus on more eco-friendly and educational approaches"

Honestly, I don't think it's the best idea. Those tiny rigs can make a lot of noise and generate heat, and let's not even get into the safety concerns with electricity and wires around minors. Better to get a dedicated space for mining or stick to less power-intensive hobbies.
