"I gotta say, scalability and security aren't a zero-sum game. You can have your cake and eat it too by implementing proper security measures from the get-go and then scaling as needed. Prioritizing one over the other is just a recipe for disaster."
"Can't say I've ever seen a project prioritize scalability over security and come out on top in the long run. Security should always be the top priority, IMHO. You can always scale later, but one major security breach can be a deal-breaker."

Can't say I'm a fan of sacrificing security for scalability. If a dev is willing to cut corners on security, what's to stop them from doing the same on scalability? A little extra time on security would be worth saving the whole project from a major security breach.
