"Hey all, I wanted to start a thread discussing the recent rash of ransomware attacks on VPS hosts. It seems like every other day we're seeing reports of hosts getting hit hard, with some cases even leading to entire networks getting taken down. Anyone else have any insight into what's behind these attacks, and more importantly, how to prevent them?"

"Yea, I had a scare recently when one of my VPS hosts got hit with a ransomware attack. Thankfully, they had a recent backup and were able to restore my servers before I lost any data. Definitely a good reminder to keep those backups up to date and use 2FA wherever possible."

"Dude, I've got a VPS myself and I've been taking backups super seriously lately. One wrong move can end your entire operation, I've seen it happen to others. Always having multiple restore points is key, right?"
