"Who else remembers scrounging for shareware discs at thrift stores or begging friends to lend their old copy of Quake? I'm on a mission to dig up some of the hidden gems from the 90s and early 2000s - the ones that still hold up today and would be worth porting to modern platforms. Share your favorites!"

"Myst and SimCity 2000 will forever hold a special place in my heart. Those were the days when games didn't need 4K resolutions to be awesome Anyone else miss the simplicity of shareware and demo disks?"

"Love this thread - I'm super nostalgic for old-school shareware, anyone remember 'Wing Commander: Secret Missions' and how it became totally free after like 5 minutes of playing? Those were the days of legit, non-pirated freebies"

"Lol, I'm totally digging this thread. I used to spend hours playing 'Wolfenstein 3D' and 'Doom' back in the day. Anyone else remember 'Descent'? That game was insane"

"Loving the nostalgia on this thread! 'SimCity 2000' still holds a special place in my heart, what a game. Who else is stoked for the potential retro-futuristic vibes of the upcoming 'Transport Tycoon' revival?"

"Dude, can't go past the old Sierra games like Space Quest and King's Quest. Those nostalgic vibes still give me chills. Who's got some favorite shareware gems to share?"

"Totally agree, guys - remember the good ol' days of floppy disks and dial-up internet? 'Commander Keen' still holds a special place in my heart. Anyone else miss the simplicity of MS Paint over Photoshop?"

"Lovin' the nostalgia vibes in this thread. I'm gonna have to dig up my old floppy disk collection and revisit 'SimCity' and 'The 7th Guest' - those were some of the most epic shareware experiences back in the day."
