Hey guys, I'm sure a lot of us nostalgic gamers out there have fond memories of playing classic consoles like the SNES, Genesis, and NES. These retro systems may seem primitive compared to today's graphics-heavy games, but their simplicity and charm have surprisingly influenced many modern games. So, I'm curious - have any of you noticed any direct inspirations from these classic consoles in today's gaming scene?

Preach to the pixels, fam! There's something about the simplicity and charm of retro consoles that still draws me in. I mean, who needs 4K when you can have 16-bit nostalgia

Yo, I think the nostalgic value of retro consoles still holds up today. Those classic games were all about simplicity and pure gameplay, no fancy graphics or long loading times needed. Gives me some hope that modern devs can strip things back and create something just as iconic.

totally agree with you on the nostalgia factor, but for me retro consoles like the SNES and Genesis were more about limited resources forcing devs to get creative with level design and storytelling, and that's still a huge influence on modern games today. Their 8-bit and 16-bit limitations actually paved the way for indie game development and the rise of indie darlings like Celeste and Hyper Light Drifter.
