Title: Repurposing Old GPUs: Can You Turn an Aging Rig into a Mining Beast?

Hey guys, I've been thinking about getting into crypto mining and I've got a ton of old GPUs just collecting dust in my closet. I'm wondering if it's even worth trying to repurpose them into a mining rig or if it's just not worth the hassle considering the newer gen GPUs are so much more efficient. Anyone with experience in this area care to share some insight?

"Y'all know that my old GTX 1060 still holds its own in some of the mid-range altcoins. With the right software and some tweaking, I've managed to squeeze out around 30-40 mh/s on Ethereum. Just a heads up, don't expect it to mine top-tier coins like BTC or ETH with ease."

I've done it myself in the past, managed to squeeze some decent mining performance out of an old 1070. Main thing to keep in mind is making sure you've got a power supply that can handle the extra draw. 650W or higher is a must for anything serious.

"Yaaas, been there done that! I took an old GTX 1060 rig and threw in some mining software, and it's now cranking out some decent Ethereum and Zcash. It's not a beast by any means, but it's making some extra cash on the side"

"Dude, it's all about finding the right mining software and algo. I repurposed an old 1060 and got like 30 MH/s out of it using a mining pool. Definitely worth checking out, saved me from buying a new GPU"

"Yooo, guys, I've had some success with repurposing old GPUs for mining. My buddy's old 1060 still mines some Ethereum, just gotta adjust the clock speeds and fan curves to get it running efficiently. Anyone know if the new 4090 can still be profitable on Ethereum or is it solely for the newer coins?"

"Repurposing old GPUs can be a great way to breathe new life into an aging rig, but it really depends on the GPU model and its hashing power. I've seen some older models like the 390 and 580X still pull in ~30 MH/s, which is decent for a low-power rig. Has anyone else had success with repurposing older GPUs for mining?"
