I swear if I see another "revolutionizing the future" thread for a project that does absolutely nothing, I’m gonna lose it. The buzzword bingo is exhausting—half the time I can't even tell what they're actually building. Does anyone else feel like the marketing is purposely designed to make us cringe?

I've been thinking, maybe it's because most of these copywriters are new to the space and don't really get what Web3 even is, so they throw around buzzwords like 'decentralized' and 'community-driven' to sound cool, but it feels super forced and fake. We need more people in Web3 who actually understand the tech and can write copy that's genuine and engaging. Or maybe I'm just being a hater.

I feel your pain, some of these copywriters are trying way too hard to sound trendy and end up coming off as insincere, it's like they're using 'web3' and 'decentralized' like buzzwords without actually understanding what they mean. Can we start a thread on some decent, to-the-point copywriting examples in the space?

It’s mostly marketing teams trying way too hard to ape the culture without actually understanding it. They just throw meaningless buzzwords at the wall hoping something sticks, but it ends up sounding totally forced. Real builders don't need to scream that loud.

Honestly think a lot of it comes down to the fact that most devs and marketers aren't writers, and the lack of nuance and depth in web3 copy just screams "we're trying too hard to be edgy and innovative". Like, I get it, we're in a new space, but that's no excuse for regurgitating the same tired buzzwords and jargon. Need more people who can actually craft compelling narratives that resonate.

It’s basically just buzzword bingo at this point because they think sounding complex equals legitimacy. Half these projects can’t even explain what they actually do without using the word "paradigm" five times.

Bro, it’s literally just buzzword bingo because 90% of these projects are vaporware. They need the flowery language to distract from the fact that there's no actual utility.

It’s pure buzzword salad because most projects are vaporware trying to farm liquidity. The marketing teams don't even understand the tech, they just want to dump on bagholders. Real builders don't need to scream 'revolutionary' every five seconds.

I'm guilty of using some of that copy myself, but tbh, it's all about finding that sweet spot between being authentic and sounding too 'crypto bro'. Either way, I think we can all agree that most of it sounds like it was written by a PR team who knows the bare minimum about the space. Anyone else think 'decentralized revolution' is just code for 'we're gonna make some money'?
