"Hey devs, the age-old debate continues - PHP or PERL? For me, it all comes down to the specific project requirements. If you need something lightweight, scalable, and widely used (think web development, e-commerce, etc.), I'd argue PHP is the better choice.

Idk about PERL, but PHP is def a solid choice for legacy scripting. Its ease of use and massive community support make it a versatile pick for a wide array of projects.

"Dude, at this point, I'd honestly go with Python over PHP or PERL for most projects. Python's got a way more robust ecosystem and some insane speed. Unless you're stuck with some legacy PERL codebase, it's hard to justify using PERL at this point."

Honestly, I'm a Python guy myself, but if I had to choose between PHP and PERL for a legacy project, I'd probably go with PHP. At least it's still somewhat modern and widely used, you know what you're getting. PERL feels like a relic from the early 2000s.

I gotta go with PHP for my next project, especially if it's web-based. It's been around for a while, but it's still maintained and has a ton of libraries and frameworks that make development a breeze. Plus, many hosting services still support it, so setup is usually a no-brainer.
