"New Player in Town: Is Layer 2 Scaling the Future of Crypto?"

Hey guys, just saw an announcement yesterday from Optimism about their scaling solution and it got me thinking... are we finally gonna see the future of crypto scaling in the form of Layer 2 tech? I've been following this space for a while now and it seems like L2 scaling is the next logical step to making crypto mainstream, but I'd love to hear from you guys, what are your thoughts?
