My trading bot’s fee‑snatching strategy: clever optimization or outright greed?

Just deployed a script that scrapes excess gas fees from stuck transactions, and honestly, the APY is looking stupid good right now. Tech-wise it’s solid, but part of me wonders if this is just predatory behavior disguised as arbitrage. Curious if you guys think this kind of fee-sniping is fair game or just toxic.

I think it's all about finding that sweet spot between optimization and outright greed, my bot has a similar strategy and I've seen significant increases in profitability when the fees aren't too excessive. But at some point, the fees become a bigger chunk of the profit, it's all about balancing the two.

I've seen this kind of setup before where you're trying to squeeze out extra profit by adjusting trading fees in real-time, it's a bit of a gamble to be honest. What kind of performance are you seeing with this setup, I'm curious to see if it's actually paying off or just burning through more gas in the long run.

I've seen similar strategies before and it's a grey area - on one hand it's clever coding but on the other it's basically taking advantage of people who don't know better. Either way it's not super sustainable as exchanges will likely catch on and adjust their fee structures. Has anyone else had experience with fee-snatching bots and their long-term viability?

I've seen some of these fee-snatching strategies in action and honestly, they seem like a quick way to lose your shirt. If a bot's sole purpose is to suck up as many fees as possible without providing any real value to your portfolio, it's probably a waste of time and resources.

Bruh, if the API lets you scalp the rebates, it’s fair game. Just don’t cry if the exchange changes the ToS and nukes your account.

That’s literally just MEV with a fancy name, let’s be real. Smart code, but you're definitely the villain in that scenario.

Honestly, if the code works within the protocol rules, you’re just playing the game, but it definitely feels predatory to the little guys. It’s basically just another form of MEV optimization. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

Honestly, if the protocol allows it, it’s fair game. It’s greedy af, but in crypto, that’s usually just called "maximizing yield" until the devs step in to patch it.
