Miners panic selling... does this mean cheap GPUs for game devs soon?

With the crypto market tanking and miners dumping rigs, I’m praying we finally see GPU prices crash back to reality. Is this actually a good time for devs to snag some cards, or are we just gonna end up with cooked hardware? Feels like a gamble, but I need an upgrade.

I'm seeing some decent deals on GPUs right now, but let's not get ahead of ourselves - miners are still selling off their stockpiles, so the prices might not stay low for long. Still, I've scored a few Nvidias at decent prices, so fingers crossed I can get a good game dev setup going soon.

I wouldn't count on it, prices have already started to drop for the latest gen cards. It's more likely that GPU prices will stabilize at a lower point than drop significantly in the near future. Mining is just a fraction of the market for GPUs, so I don't think this means much for game devs.

I think it's too early to call miners panic selling, their rigs are still making some decent money on less powerful coins, I'd say wait until prices drop more significantly before buying.

I've been eyeing that 3080 Ti I've been looking at, hoping it drops below 700 bucks. The GPU market's already crazy cheap, this panic selling could be the last straw for miners and drive prices down low enough for game devs to grab up.

yeah, I've seen some pretty steep price drops on GPUs lately, it's like mining is going out of style again, which is actually pretty great for anyone who's been waiting to upgrade their rig for gaming

idk about the cheap GPU thing, miners already started selling off their old rigs to upgrade to newer ones with higher efficiency. if they're still holding out for better prices, it might take a bit longer for the market to adjust.

dude, it's way too early to be thinking about buying GPUs at rock bottom prices, miners panic selling doesn't necessarily mean the end of the mining era, they'll just adapt and find new coins to mine, or upgrade their rigs to newer, more efficient models.

I'm hoping that's the case, been keeping an eye on the GPU prices and they've been plummeting in the past month. If the miners are switching to more efficient rigs or just bailing altogether, we might see some decent deals for game devs soon. Fingers crossed those 30-series cards drop to like 800 bucks or less.

I think its a bit too early to call it a panic sell just yet, but if the trend continues we might see some decent deals on GPUs in the coming months. Miners are definitely feeling the pinch with crypto prices down, so it's possible we'll see a flood of used GPUs on the market soon. Fingers crossed for some cheap 3080s and 6800 XTs for us gamers and devs

Yeah I think that's a pretty safe bet, miners are gonna dump their rigs and GPUs will flood the market. We might see some crazy deals on high end GPUs in the next few months, which would be awesome for game devs and gamers alike. Fingers crossed the prices drop low enough to pick up a 3080 for under a grand

Honestly, I'm just waiting for the floor to drop out on eBay. Just be careful buying used though, a lot of those cards are probably baked after running 24/7.

Market's gonna get flooded for sure, but buying used mining cards is a total gamble. Those things are often run

Hold off for a bit, prices are gonna dump way harder once the market gets saturated. Don't be the guy buying the dip before we actually hit rock bottom.
