MCP + Crypto Payments: Are we finally ready to trust AI agents with the keys?

With the Model Context Protocol blowing up, I'm seeing more demos of AI agents executing swaps autonomously, but giving them direct custody of private keys still feels super sketch to me. Is the tech actually secure enough now, or are we just begging to get rekt by a hallucination? Curious if anyone's brave enough to run this on mainnet yet.

I'm still not convinced that fully trusting AI agents with our crypto keys is a good idea, even with MPC involved. We've seen how AI systems can be manipulated in other contexts, I don't want that risk in my wallet. Can we at least have some kind of fallback mechanism in place in case the AI makes a mistake?

I'm still skeptical about putting too much faith in MCP or any AI agent with my crypto keys, given the history of smart contract bugs and AI glitches we've seen in the past. Until they can provide some seriously robust security audits and assurances, I'm sticking to using human-run wallets and exchanges. Maybe with some advancements in zero-knowledge proofs, we'll get closer to full trust in MCP.

I'm still on the fence about trusting AI agents with our crypto keys, even with MCP's robust security measures in place. I think it's more about user education and setting the right boundaries rather than solely relying on AI to keep our funds safe. Have we seen any studies on AI-generated wallets and their susceptibility to phishing?

Honestly not sure if we're ready for this level of trust in AI agents just yet, I mean have we even seen an audit of their key management systems? I'd love to see some transparent proof that these AI agents can protect our crypto better than we can ourselves with a hardware wallet.

I've been following this thread and gotta say, the idea of MCPs handling crypto payments is both exciting and terrifying at the same time. We've seen some solid proofs of concept, but I still think we need more robust security audits before we can trust AI agents with the keys. Maybe we're getting close, but I'm not convinced we're quite there yet.

Hard pass on giving agents full custody until the audits are solid. Maybe spin up a burner wallet to test it, but trusting an AI with the main stack is just asking to get rekt.
