Hey guys, just wanted to start a thread on building a low-budget PC for crypto mining. I've been digging through some parts and found a setup that can allegedly mine some popular coins like Ethereum and Monero for around $500. Would love to hear some feedback and see if anyone has any better suggestions.

"Yooo, I went down this route a while back and ended up building a miner for like $420. I used an old RX 550, 8GB RAM, and a 240GB SSD, so far it's been raking in some decent cash. Definitely worth the investment if you're looking to get in on the action on a shoestring."

"Dude, I've done something similar, got an old GTX 1060 for $100 and paired it with an Intel i3 and 8 GB RAM. Ran it on the Antminer OS and managed to earn about $10/week on some low-hash coins. Not bad for a $300 build"

"Yooo, I just built a similar rig a few months back for under $400 and I'm getting around 20-25 H/s with an Nvidia GTX 1650 Super. You gotta be careful with the power setup, though - keep it as efficient as possible to avoid killing your wallet on the electric bill. Has anyone tried using a 6x GPU setup with these cards?"

"Hey OP, I'd recommend checking out the Antminer S1 for a low-budget option, it's an old-school ASIC but still a solid choice for mining Litecoins and other small caps. Can get it for around $60 second-hand, plus a few bucks for a rig casing and some power supplies."

"Yo, I did something similar last month, but with an AMD Ryzen 3 3200G. Paired it with 4gb of ram and a 240gb NVMe drive, and was able to mine some ETNs on HashRanger. Not bad for the price, but power consumption was pretty high"

"Dude, what about using an Antminer S3 clone? They're like $150 used on eBay and still pack a decent punch for a low budget build. Also, consider an old CPU like a Ryzen 3 from 2017, it's still a beast for mining and can be found for cheap."
