"Locked Out of My Linux VM: Help Needed to Recover Root Access"

"Hey guys, just a heads up - I'm having a pretty bad day with my Linux VM. I was trying some new security software and I locked myself out of the root account. The VM's password manager now won't let me in, and I'm starting to get a little worried I'll have to wipe the whole thing and start over"

"Lol, have you tried booting into single-user mode and then switching to root? It's a pretty common trick to get back into a locked VM. Can you paste the error you're getting when you try to login?"
