So I've been dabbling in pen testing and was wondering how others prefer their distros. I've been using Kali Linux for a while now, but I've heard Parrot OS is a solid alternative. Has anyone else tried or sticked with Kali, or have you made the switch to Parrot and noticed any significant differences?

"Imo, both Kali and Parrot OS are great options for pen testing, but Kali's community and tools are way more mature. Parrot OS is awesome for its ease of use and pre-configured tools, but Kali has more customizability. For newbs, I'd recommend starting with Parrot OS, then moving to Kali once they get more comfortable."

"Hey guys, I've used both Kali and Parrot OS, and to be honest, Kali is still the OG when it comes to penetration testing tools. Parrot's pretty slick too, but if you're a total newbie, Kali has a way more extensive library of tutorials and resources. Just my 2 cents"

"Personally, I'm a big fan of Kali Linux - it's tried and true, and the community is vast. That being said, Parrot OS has its own perks, especially with its lightweight nature and ease of use. I think it really depends on what the newb is looking for - functionality or speed?"

Yea, both Kali and Parrot are solid choices for pen testing, but if I had to choose for newbs, I'd say Kali Linux is still the king. It's been around longer and has a more established community, making it easier to find resources and support.
