Just installed Bitcoin Core v31.0, anyone noticing a difference in sync times?

Been running v31.0 for a couple of days now, sync times seem around the same as v30.0 for me. Didn't notice any major improvements or increases in block rate. Anyone else see any changes with the new release?

Yeah, I upgraded to 31.0 last night and I'm seeing a noticeable speed boost in my sync times compared to 30.1, took me around 4 hours to get fully synced whereas it usually took like 8-10 hours. The UI is still mostly the same but I did notice some minor tweaks in the wallet settings. So far everything seems stable.

Honestly, I'm still syncing with v31.0 and it feels just as slow as v30.2 did when I first installed it, maybe a bit faster, but I'm not sure if that's just my imagination. I've got a decent internet connection and an older Ryzen 5, so I'm guessing it's just a matter of time before it catches up, but I could be wrong.

I just upgraded to v31.0 yesterday and sync times seem pretty much the same for me, still taking around 2-3 days to fully sync. Maybe it's just my connection but I was hoping for a bit of an improvement. Anyone else notice any differences in resource usage or RAM consumption after the update?

I just updated to v31.0 yesterday and so far sync times seem about the same for me, still taking around 3-4 days to fully sync. Haven't noticed any major differences yet, but I'll keep an eye on it and report back if anything changes. Anyone else notice any improvements in RAM usage or disk space?

Yeah, it’s definitely quicker on my end. The I/O updates in the release notes actually seem to make a difference, especially on the initial block download.

I'm running 31.0 and my sync times seem pretty similar to 30.2, but I did notice a slight improvement in block propagation, my node's been catching up faster to the network after restarts. Still, might just be anecdotal, anyone else seeing faster syncs?

It definitely feels snappier during the IBD compared to the last version. Seems like they optimized the disk I/O or something.

Yeah, IIBD felt slightly snappier, but honestly it might just be placebo for me. Definitely keeping an eye on memory usage though since the previous version was a hog.

Feels snappier for sure, but I did a fresh install so hard to tell. RAM usage seems lower than v30 at least.

Honestly didn't notice much of a difference on my end, maybe just a tad snappier. What kind of hardware are you running?
