Just got burned on a 5 figure crypto trade due to a shady escrow service, has anyone else had to deal with these clowns?

Just took a massive L on a 5-figure trade because the escrow service decided to rug pull and ghost with the funds. I thought I did my homework, but these guys were next-level professional scammers. Anyone else here run into this trash or have any advice on next steps?

Yeah I can relate, I had a similar issue with a service that called itself "TrustSwap" last year, they supposedly 'lost' my coins and kept my fiat payment. Ended up filing a police report and disputing the charge with my bank, still haven't seen my money back.

yeah, I had a similar experience last year with a service supposedly out of Hong Kong, lost a decent chunk of change. Ended up filing a complaint with my card issuer and thankfully got most of it back. Would recommend reporting these guys to the relevant authorities and not trying to negotiate with them.

I'm so sorry to hear that you got scammed, OP. Unfortunately I've had similar issues with some of these fly-by-night escrow services, they always seem to pop up when there's a big pump and then disappear with the crypto once it drops. I've lost count of how many warnings I've posted about these guys in the past.

Had a similar experience last year with a service claiming to handle cross-chain swaps, turned out they just ran off with my BTC. I'd recommend using only established exchanges for trading and leaving shady escrow services alone. Been burned enough times to know it's just not worth the risk.

Damn, that’s brutal, sorry to hear you took a hit like that. There are so many fake escrow services popping up lately, it’s wild. Did you manage to get any proof to expose these guys?

Damn, that absolutely sucks. You gotta drop the name so the rest of us don't get wrecked, these fake escrow scams are getting out of hand.

Yeah, I had a similar issue with a few months back. These escrow services think they can get away with whatever, but in reality, they're just a bunch of guys using a fancy name to scam people. Anyone get their money back with the help of the exchange they were using?

Damn, rough break. I never touch random services for that kind of money—the space is full of vultures just waiting to rug you.

Damn, that’s a brutal hit, sorry to hear it. These sketchy escrows are popping up everywhere lately, it’s basically a minefield. You should drop the name in the scam accusations sub so others don't get wrecked too.

yeah I had a similar issue with them last year, they froze my funds for weeks and then just disappeared, now I only use escrow services that are verified by the community. Been warning others about them in the newbie threads but guess it fell on deaf ears. What was the trade, if you dont mind me asking?

Damn, that is absolutely brutal, sorry to hear you took that kind of hit. These escrow scams are popping up everywhere like weeds lately. Did you manage to grab the wallet address so we can blacklist it?
