I just hit a major milestone with my trusty 1999 Subaru Outback - 500k miles and still going strong. My grandma used to own one back in the 90s and I've always been impressed by their durability, especially with how well they can handle rough terrain. What's behind Subaru's secret to making cars that last like this?

I've got a friend with a Subaru that hit 450k miles a few years ago and still going strong too, but the key to their durability is probably just good maintenance. They've been doing full tune-ups every 30k miles, oil changes every 5k, and replacing the timing belt at 100k like they're supposed to.

"Love this story, OP. I've got a friend who had a Subaru Outback for 15 years and clocked over 300k miles without any major issues. Their secret, in my opinion, is those legendary boxer engines and all-wheel drive systems, which just last forever."

"Props to you bro, that's insane! Honestly, I've had my Subaru Outback for 250k and it's still going strong. Must be the boxer engine, it's super low maintenance and can withstand a lot of abuse."

"Yo, that's insane! I've had my Subaru Outback for 10 years now and it's got over 200k on it without any major issues. I guess their reputation for being bulletproof is real"

"Lols, 500k miles? That's straight crazy. It's gotta be those Subaru owners' notoriously meticulous maintenance habits, not to mention those boxer engines are pretty solid builds."

"Yo, I've got a buddy who's been running his WRX for 750k miles and still goes strong. I think it's all about the boxer engine design and robust construction - Subaru knows how to build 'em to last. Low maintenance costs too, which doesn't hurt"
