Is the looming Bitcoin stalemate a goldmine for new exploit strategies or a dead end for hackers?

With BTC stuck in limbo and the mempool looking dry, are black hats actually finding fresh zero-days in the quiet, or is the juice just not worth the squeeze anymore? Feels like we’re either sitting on a ticking time bomb of new exploit strategies or the hacking game is totally dead for now.

Honestly, I'm not sure if a stalemate would make it easier or harder for hackers - either way, they'll just adapt and find a way to target whatever weaknesses remain. The real concern is that a stalemate means devs might get complacent and overlook potential vulnerabilities, if they're too confident.

I think the stalemate is more of a dead end for hackers, at least in terms of finding easy pickings. The increased scrutiny on the network and the constant updates have made it much harder for the same old attack vectors to work. I've seen a rise in interest in sidechains and off-chain transactions, so I'm curious to see if that's a new area of focus for hackers.

I think it's a bit of both, to be honest. On one hand, the stalemate could mean hackers have less opportunity to move assets around, but on the other hand, the uncertainty and lack of clear direction might cause some to become more aggressive in their attempts to exploit vulnerabilities. Either way, it's making things interesting as a holder.

Hackers don't care about a stalemate, they care about liquidity, and there's plenty of that still sitting on L2s. If the main chain is boring, they’ll just pivot to poking holes in DeFi protocols. Definitely not a dead end for them.

Nah, it's a goldmine. When the market crabs, hackers start probing L2s and bridges harder because everyone’s guard is down. It’s definitely not a dead end, just a different playground.

Hackers follow the liquidity, not the tech. If the market is crabbing and no degens are ape-ing in, there's barely any juice left to squeeze.

Hackers don't really care about the price action, they just look for buggy code. If BTC is crabbing, liquidity just flows to volatile alts where it's way easier to find a target. It’s definitely not a dead end for the black hats.
