Title: Is Russia's CBDC the Key to Unlocking Its Economic Freedom from Sanctions?

Hey guys, just wanted to spark some discussion - with all the recent news about Russia's central bank digital currency (CBDC), I got to wondering if this could be their ticket to getting out from under those pesky sanctions we've been hearing so much about. Would a CBDC allow them to skirt the financial restrictions and keep their economy afloat?

"Interesting topic, but I think it's a double-edged sword. Russia's CBDC could give them more control over their financial system, but it also raises concerns about the gov't having too much power over people's transactions. Does anyone know more about the specifics of their CBDC plan?"

"TBH, I think Russia's central bank digital currency (CBDC) is more about survival than gaining economic freedom. By reducing dependence on SWIFT and other international banking systems, they're trying to mitigate the effects of sanctions, not really break free from them. It's a defensive move rather than an aggressive one."
