Is it safe to run a personal Bitcoin miner on the same network as my wallet & email servers?

Thinking about spinning up a miner at home but kinda paranoid about security. Is it risky to have it on the same LAN as my wallet and email server? Don't want some sketchy firmware to backdoor my entire setup.

I'd say it's generally not a good idea to run a miner on the same network as your wallet and email servers. The power consumption from the miner could potentially cause instability in your network, and it also increases the risk of a successful 51% attack if your miner starts to produce a significant amount of hashpower. Consider setting up a dedicated mining rig or separate network for your mining setup.

I personally wouldn't risk running a miner on the same network as your sensitive servers, there's just too much potential for a bug or malware to sneak in and compromise your wallet or email. It's better to have dedicated networks for each or use a strong firewall to isolate the miner. I mean, it's not worth the risk, dude.

Honestly, I'd be cautious about running your miner on the same network as your email and wallet servers. Having a miner on the same network could open you up to potential risks like Denial of Service attacks, which could also affect your email and wallet servers. I'd strongly consider isolating the miner on a separate network or VLAN for peace of mind.

Big risk unless you throw that miner on a separate VLAN or guest network. Mining hardware gets compromised all the time and you don't want an attacker pivoting to your wallet stack. Better safe than sorry, just segment the traffic.

Nah, definitely spin up a separate VLAN or a cheap guest network for the miner to keep it isolated. You really don't want a compromised node giving someone lateral access to your private keys. Better safe than sorry, fam.

Bro, don't do it. If the miner gets 0wned, they're straight into your wallet and email. Put it on a VLAN or separate subnet just to be safe.

Yeah, that’s pretty risky if your wallet has any real value in it. If the miner gets compromised, they’re already inside your network and can sniff traffic. Best to just throw the miner on a guest VLAN or separate subnet.

Honestly, you're probably fine on a standard home network, but why risk it? I'd toss the miner on a separate VLAN just to be safe, so it can't touch your wallet if something goes sideways.

I'd say it's a pretty bad idea to run a miner on the same network as your wallet and email servers, just because of the security risks. If your miner gets compromised, it could give an attacker access to your entire network, which is a huge risk if you're storing any significant amount of bitcoin. Keep your miner on a separate network or at least behind a solid firewall to minimize the potential damage.

It's probably fine for a casual setup, but throwing the miner on a separate VLAN is the smart move if you're holding any serious coin. If the firmware gets pwned, you definitely don't want an attacker on the same LAN as your private keys. Better safe than sorry.
