Is HODLing BTC a retirement dream or a reckless gamble for Russians

With everything going on with the ruble and sanctions, stacking sats looks like the ultimate exit strategy, but is it really safe? I'm worried the government might ban us from cashing out right when we need it most. Is relying on BTC for retirement genius or just asking to get wrecked?

I think we're misunderstanding the question here. Not all Russians are gonna have a windfall and be able to HODL just because they live in Russia. The risks and rewards of HODLing are global issues, not specific to any nationality.

I think the idea of HODLing as a retirement plan in Russia is a stretch, given the current economic and political climate. Even if we assume BTC holds its value, most Russians just can't afford to allocate that kind of capital into crypto. They have more pressing financial concerns.

I think we should consider the broader economic landscape in Russia and its potential impact on the ruble's volatility, not just HODLing BTC. A strong US dollar and sanctions can make life tough for Russians, but investing in BTC might actually be a smart hedge against ruble devaluation. It's not a reckless gamble if people have a well-planned exit strategy.

I've got some Russian friends who are HODLing their BTC too, and from what I've seen, they're not doing it as a gamble, more like a way to diversify their investments and hedge against the declining ruble. It's actually pretty smart considering the economic situation in Russia.

I've seen too many Russians getting caught up in the hype and buying into the whole "Bitcoin will make you rich" narrative without considering the real-world implications of market volatility, and now they're regretting their decisions as they watch their savings dwindle. HODLing is all about luck, not strategy, and there's nothing inherently special about Russia that makes it a haven for successful Bitcoin investors.

I'd say HODLing is a solid long-term investment strategy but it's definitely not a get-rich-quick scheme, and Russians should be prepared for market fluctuations just like anyone else, no need to be more cautious just because of their nationality. They should have a well-rounded investment portfolio and not put all their eggs in one basket with just BTC.
