"Hey guys, just had an epiphany - what if crypto exchanges were forced to hold 50% of their trading fees in a reserve fund to protect user assets? That'd provide some serious peace of mind for investors, and prevent another FTX-level meltdown. Sound crazy or is it a game-changer?"

"I'm 100% on board with this. Requiring exchanges to hold a percentage of trading fees in reserve would give users a sense of security and protect them from potential exchange hacks. It's a simple change that could make a huge difference."

"No way, that's just a recipe for disaster. If exchanges are forced to hold 50% of fees in reserve, they'll either increase fees or just take it from their own profits. How about just implementing proper security measures instead?"

"Preach, OP! Requiring exchanges to hold 50% of trading fees in reserve makes total sense to me. It's a small price to pay for added security and peace of mind for users"

"Lmao, 50% is a bit drastic but I'd be down for something like 20-25% to be set aside for user protection. This way it wouldn't be too costly for exchanges to run, but it'd give users some reassurance that their funds are somewhat safeguarded."

"Idk about this one, but it's definitely a step in the right direction. Requiring exchanges to hold 50% of fees in reserve could help mitigate some of the risks associated with hacks and insolvencies. But what about the long-term effects on liquidity and competition?"

"Totally agree with OP. It's a no-brainer - exchanges should be required to hold some of the fees for user fund protection. At least 50% seems reasonable to ensure we're not leaving our assets at the mercy of a liquidity crisis"

"Yaaas, that's a solid idea. Having exchanges hold a portion of fees in reserve would give users a bit more confidence in the security of their funds. It's a great step towards accountability."
