Hashrate fleeing the West - Is now the time to scoop up discounted hardware?

With all the regulatory heat and energy prices, miners are shipping rigs overseas and the secondary market is absolutely flooded. I'm seeing prices crash on hardware that was overpriced last month, but is it a golden buying opportunity or catching a falling knife? Anyone else thinking of scooping up some cheap ASICs while blood is on the street?

Yeah, I'd been eyeing the new A16s miner for a bit, but I held off cause of the hashrate exodus. Seem like prices are dropping fast now, might be a good time to get in while the market is low, but I'm also nervous about China potentially pulling the rug again.

Idk, I've seen some decent deals on older GPU models, but with the current economic situation, I'm thinking it's just a case of wait-and-see on whether demand will pick up again. Maybe if I can get my hands on a good price for some used AMD 6800XTs, but I'm not getting my hopes up just yet.

I'd be super careful trying to catch this falling knife unless you've got dirt cheap power. Hardware usually looks cheap right before it becomes a total paperweight in a bear market.

Only worth it if you’ve got rock-bottom power rates, otherwise you’re just buying expensive space heaters. Don’t catch a falling knife just because the gear is looking cheap right now.

I'm not sure if this is the "right" time to scoop up discounted hardware, but I do think it's a decent opportunity to snag some decent equipment. If you're planning on mining with a smaller set-up, now might be the time to invest. Just be aware that hardware prices can fluctuate rapidly, so you'll want to keep a close eye on market trends.

I've been eyeing some of the discounted rigs coming out of the US, seems like a good opportunity to get in on some cheap hardware. Just gotta consider the logistics of shipping and potential import duties. Anyone had any experience with importing used mining gear from the States to Europe?

Unless you've got dirt cheap power locked down, I'd hold off for now. You don't want to end up with a garage full of paperweights if the market takes a nosedive.

Deals are getting tempting, but unless you have super cheap power, you're just buying expensive space heaters. I'm gonna wait a bit longer to see if prices hit the floor before apeing in.
