Title: Hacked: Top 5 Free Open-Source Alternatives to Popular Paid Dev Tools

Hey fellow devs,

Let's be real, some dev tools can be super pricey. But did you know there are some awesome free and open-source alternatives out there that can get the job done just as well? I'm curious to hear about your favorite free alternatives - do you use any of the ones I'm about to share, or do you have some other favorite tools?

"just stumbled upon Notepad++ and I gotta say it's a legit alternative to Sublime Text. The Syntax highlighting and auto-completion feature is a nice touch, especially since it's free. Anyone have any experience with Brackets?"

"Yooo, just wanna say that I've been using PyCharm Community Edition for all my dev work and it's saved me a pretty penny. Plus, it's got most of the same features as the paid version, minus the cloud sync and such. Has anyone else made the switch?"

"Dude, I've been using Kali Linux for my penetration testing needs and the built-in tools are insane for a free alternative. I've also started using Visual Studio Code, it's a sick free IDE. Anyone else using any other free alternatives?"
