GPU prices are crashing again... time to stock up or wait for the next gen?

Saw some crazy price drops on 40-series cards today and I’m tempted to ape in, but is it worth it with the 50-series right around the corner? Part of me wants to build a new rig while it's cheap, but I don't want to get stuck with last-gen tech in a few months. What’s the play here—buy the dip or wait for the next paper launch?

I'm personally waiting to see what AMD's next gen of GPUs will bring to the table, I mean Navi 31 and 32 look promising but I'm not sure how much of a performance jump they'll actually offer. In the meantime, the prices on current gen cards are so low it's almost silly to invest in them, but if you need a new GPU for gaming I say grab one while it's cheap.

I'm holding out for the next gen, personally. From what I've seen, the current gen cards from NVIDIA and AMD are still pretty pricey, even with the price drop. I think we'll see even better performance and a slight dip in price once the new cards are released.

Honestly, I’d just wait. The next gen is right around the corner and you know current gen cards will tank even harder once the announcements drop.

I'm thinking of grabbing a few 3080s while they're cheap, don't wanna wait for the 4000 series to drop and then have the prices skyrocket again. Heard rumors that the next gen GPUs might not be as big of a performance jump as we're hoping for anyway. Guess it depends on your needs, but for me, a discounted 3080 is a great deal right now.

Honestly, I’d wait it out. The resale value on current cards is gonna tank the second the next gen is announced, so buying now feels like catching a falling knife. Just hold onto your bag until the 50-series drops.

I'd honestly hold off if you can, the next gen is right around the corner. There's still a ton of used inventory hitting the market from miners dumping their rigs, so prices might drop even further soon.

Honestly, I’d wait for the next gen drops unless you need a card ASAP. Prices always tank right before the new announcements, so don't get rekt buying last season's tech.

Bro, just wait for the 50-series unless you find a total steal on the used market. Buying current gen top-end right now feels like catching a falling knife.

I'm thinking about buying some 4070s, they're still a bit pricey but I heard they're a good balance for mining and gaming. Been keeping an eye on the market myself, but I'm not sure if I should wait for the 4090s or grab the 4070s while they're still relatively affordable.
