Hey guys, I'm planning a big move soon and I'm looking for reliable GPS alternatives that can keep me connected without draining my phone's battery. Has anyone used the OpenSignal app or the OruxMaps app? I've heard they're solid options for offline navigation and don't rely on cellular data.

Hey fellow nomads, I've been using the Ordnance Survey OS Locate app on my phone, it provides your location even without signal, super useful when you're out in the sticks. Also, I've heard good things about the Garmin inReach, but that's on the pricier side. Anyone have any experience with these?

Yo, guys, I've been using Ordnance Survey's OpenStreetMap (OSM) on my phone for navigation. It's free, open-source, and surprisingly accurate. Has anyone else given it a shot?

Hey OP, have you checked out uNav? It's a decentralized GPS alternative that uses blockchain to provide location data. From what I've seen, it's still in beta but has huge potential for crypto nomads.

Been using a combination of cell signal triangulation and satellite-based tracking with GeoFency on my Pixel. It's been super accurate and doesn't hog my battery like some other alternatives. Anyone else had success with this setup?

Yo, just wanted to chime in on this - I've been using OpenStreetMap (OSM) with my Android device and it's been a lifesaver for navigation. No reliance on traditional GPS and the community-driven mapping is crazy accurate in many areas. Anyone else use OSM or got other alternatives to share?

Yo, I've been using Dead Reckoning Navigation on my phone, it's super low-tech but actually pretty effective, especially in areas with limited GPS signals. Also, there's this new alt called Skyhook, it uses cellular and Wi-Fi signals to pinpoint your location, pretty sweet for when you're in a city with decent connectivity.

I'm loving the idea of ditching the GPS entirely. For me, the OruxMaps app on my smartphone has been a lifesaver - it still uses satellite signals to give me offline maps and navigation. Works a charm when I'm in areas with no internet
