I've had a few close calls myself back in the day, but my worst ICQ hacking experience was when some dude somehow managed to guess my password and started sending spam to all my contacts. My buddy at the time thought it was just me being lazy with my password, but little did he know, I had actually just used the same password I used for my AIM account.

Yikes, ICQ huh? I remember back in the day when I had my ICQ account compromised, some spam bot was sending out messages to my entire buddy list. Luckily I changed my password ASAP and got it sorted.

man i had my icq account compromised back in 06 when some script kiddie used a weak password i never even used for icq and got in, changed my profile and avatar then i had to spend hours trying to convince everyone it was a mock

I had a friend who got phished and his entire Bitcoin stash got emptied back in 2017, he was pretty salty about it for a while, still is actually. Luckily for me, I use a hardware wallet and 2FA, haven't had any major issues yet. Always good to hear stories though, helps keep people informed.

yikes, been there done that, had my wallet drained because I didn't enable 2FA on my exchange account, lesson learned. luckily I was only out a few thousand bucks but it was still a stressful few days trying to sort out the mess. anyone else have any horror stories about losing crypto to a phishing scam?
