Thinking about dropping some cash on Geekbrains courses, but are the certs actually a legit signal to HR or just noise? Don't wanna waste my time if recruiters don't give a damn. Anyone here actually land a gig thanks to having one on their resume?

Honestly, I think it depends on the company and industry, but from what I've seen, a cert from Geekbrains can definitely give you a leg up, especially if it's in a in-demand area like AI or cybersecurity, where people are willing to pay for quality training. Still, I wouldn't put all my eggs in the cert basket, you know? You should also focus on building projects and a strong portfolio to really stand out.

Personally, I think the value of Geekbrains certs lies in showcasing your skills and dedication to learning, but in terms of direct recruitment, it's a toss-up - some companies might see it as a nice bonus, while others probably won't give it much weight. I've noticed that most recruitment firms are more keen on actual project experience and real-world accomplishments than online certifications.

Honestly, I think some recruiters do care, but it's not a make-or-break kinda deal. I've seen people with Geekbrains certs get decent interviews, but it's usually when they have other notable projects or relevant experience to back it up. Having a cert is just a starting point, not a job guarantee.

I've had some success with Geekbrains certs in my job search, but I think it really depends on the industry and the company. If you're going for a high-end gig in a niche area, sure, the cert might be a make-or-break factor, but for more general roles, it's probably not going to make or break your chances.

Nah, not really. They care way more about your GitHub or actual projects than a piece of paper. Just build something cool, that’s the real flex.

I've got a few geekbrains certs and I gotta say, they did help me get my foot in the door at my current dev job. Recruiters probably care more about the skills you can actually demonstrate, but having those certs on your resume can be a nice convo starter. Doesn't hurt to have them, especially if you're just starting out in the field.

Real talk, recruiters care way more about your GitHub and what you can actually build than a piece of paper. It’s good for learning the basics, but you’re gonna need a solid portfolio to land the gig.

Honestly, from what I've seen, having a Geekbrains cert can give you a good shot at getting noticed by recruiters, but it's not a magic ticket to getting hired. Some companies really value those certs, while others are more about the tech skills and experience. I'd say it's a nice bonus to have, but don't rely solely on it.
