Hey guys, been tinkering with an old GPU for a side project and I had it on the brink of death. I mean, it was completely bricked, but some digging online and a bit of experimentation got it back to life (well, mostly). Now I'm looking for the cheapest, most efficient way to revive it, so share your experiences and tips!"

"Lol just had this happen to me with an old GTX 1060 and I managed to bring it back to life by clearing the CMOS on the motherboard. Was a simple fix but now it's screaming along at 60Hz like new. Anyone have experience with this method?"

"Dude, I totally bricked my EVGA 1060 6GB back in the day trying to OC it to the moon. Luckily, I had a friend who was a PC genius and managed to revive it, but I've heard that using a GPU recovery tool like Afterburner can also help in cases like that. Has anyone else tried any other methods?"

"Yo, I'm no pro but I've had some luck with the 'power cycle trick' on a few dead GPUs. Try unplugging the card, holding the power button for 30 seconds, and then plugging it back in. It's worth a shot, right?"

"Lol just wondering, would a fresh set of thermal pads and some TLC on the old card be worth a shot? I've seen some vids on YouTube where it worked for some guys, but I'm not sure about the feasibility. Anyone got a 'bricked' card to revive?"

"Dude, I had the same issue with my 1080ti last year. Cleaning the VRM with a soft brush and a small amount of isopropyl alcohol did the trick for me. Just make sure to unplug the power cable first, don't wanna electrocute yourself"

"Yooo, I've been in that situation before with my old GTX 970. I managed to revive it by swapping the faulty VRAM capacitor with a new one, but I didn't spend a fortune on it. Cost me like $20 bucks, and it's been running like a beast ever since"

"Dude, I had a similar experience with my RX 580 and I was able to revive it by cleaning the VRAM with a can of compressed air. Worth a shot if you haven't tried it already! Also, anyone know if the new 3080 models are compatible with older mobos?"

"Lol @ OP's thread title, that's a solid pun! I've had my fair share of bricked GPUs, but I just recently used a $3 bios flasher to bring a dead GTX 670 back to life. anyone else have any success stories like this?"
