"Just did a fresh install of Ubuntu on my rig and I'm having some weird config issues. For some reason, my display settings are defaulting to this weird 1024x768 resolution and I'm also getting some weird permission errors when trying to install new software. Anyone else experience this?"

"Yooo, just had a similar issue last week and I think I know what might be causing it. Try running 'sudo apt update' and 'sudo apt full-upgrade' to see if that updates some of your packages and resolves the issue. If not, share more about your setup and I can try to help out"

"Hey OP, had a similar issue with my setup after a fresh ubuntu install. Try running `sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade` and see if that resolves your config issues. Then, you can try reinstalling any packages that were causing problems."

"Hey OP, did you try updating your Ubuntu packages and then reconfiguring your system? Sometimes a fresh install just needs a good clean slate, you feel me? You can also try checking the Ubuntu subreddit, might be some helpful threads in there too"

"Hey OP, have you tried reconfiguring your grub settings or resetting your network manager? Sometimes those are the culprits behind weird config issues, especially after a fresh install"

"Hey OP, I just wanted to throw out that I've had some similar issues in the past when installing certain distros on new hardware. Make sure you check the BIOS settings for any overclocking or UEFI settings that might be interfering with your install. Also, have you tried a fresh install with the 'nomodeset' kernel option?"

"Lol, same here with fresh installs. Try reinstalling the graphics driver, I had similar issues with my NVidia card and it resolved the problem for me. Also check for any software updates that might be causing conflicts."

"Hey OP, I had a similar issue with my Ubuntu install a while back. Try running 'sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade' to see if it resolves any config issues. If not, you might wanna check your system logs for any error messages."

"Hey OP, what's the setup look like? Are you using a fresh Ubuntu install with a custom kernel or any third-party repos enabled?"
